Email supportWhat to include
A few details let us answer on the first reply instead of the third:
- The email address on your HealthStars account.
- Your app version, and your iPhone and Apple Watch software versions.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- The date and time of the session or challenge attempt, if it's about one.
- A screenshot, where there's something to see.
Common questions
My verification email never arrived
Check your spam and promotions folders first — the message comes from noreply@healthstars.io. If it isn't there, use the resend option on the verification screen in the app.
Resends are rate limited, so wait a few minutes between attempts. If nothing arrives after that, email us and we'll verify the account by hand.
I forgot my password
Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen and enter your account email. We'll send a reset link that opens in your browser.
The link works once and expires, so request a fresh one if it's been sitting in your inbox. Reset requests are rate limited per account.
My heart rate isn't being recorded
Live heart rate comes from your Apple Watch, so start with the watch: confirm it's paired, worn snugly above the wrist bone, and that the HealthStars app is installed on it.
Then check permissions. In Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › HealthStars, make sure heart rate and workout access are turned on. Denying them at first launch is the most common cause.
How is my readiness score calculated?
Readiness is scored before a session from your recent training load and the inputs you log — sleep, stress, hydration, nutrition and medication — alongside your body composition and the conditions you're training in.
The breakdown in the app shows which factors are pulling the score down, so a low number always comes with a reason. Log your daily inputs to keep it accurate.
My challenge attempt didn't count
An attempt is only scored once the warm-up is complete, you've reached 80% of your max heart rate, and the session comes back compliant. Attempts that stop short of that are dropped, which is what keeps the leaderboard honest.
One attempt counts per weekly window. If you believe a compliant attempt was missed, email us the date and time and we'll look at the session.
When do challenge winnings get paid?
Connect a payout account in the app once. Winnings settle to it after the weekly window, season or year closes and the results are confirmed.
Payouts can take a few business days to appear, depending on your bank. If a confirmed prize hasn't landed after that, get in touch.
How do I change my email or password?
Both live in your account settings in the app. Changing your email sends a verification link to the new address, and the change takes effect once you follow it.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from your account settings in the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, biometrics, sessions and challenge history are removed and cannot be restored.
If you have an unpaid prize, contact us before deleting so we can settle it first.
What do I need to run HealthStars?
An iPhone is required. An Apple Watch is strongly recommended — it's what supplies live heart rate and lets you control a session from your wrist. HealthStars reads from and writes to Apple Health with your permission.
Training safely
Not medical advice
HealthStars is a fitness app, not a medical device, and nothing in it is a diagnosis or a substitute for professional care. Talk to your clinician before starting high-intensity training, particularly if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure or diabetes, or you're on medication that affects your heart rate.
Stop your session and seek medical help if you feel chest pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. If it's an emergency, call your local emergency number.
